Rikard Bengtsson is Associate Professor of Political Science and Deputy Direc
tor of the Centre for European Studies and Programme Director for the master’
s programme in European Affairs at Lund University, Sweden. His main research
interests include global political order, regionalism and regional security,
and EU external action.

Rikard Bengtsson是瑞典隆德大学政治学系副教授、欧洲学中心副主任。他的研究兴趣包
括全球政治秩序、地方主义和区域安全、欧盟的外部影响等。






讲座内容介绍:


This lecture focuses on various aspects of the political dynamics of the Euro
pean Union. It analyzes formal and informal decision-making processes in the
EU, paying special attention to the system of constantly ongoing negotiations
on various levels of the organisation. The lecture also problematizes the dr
ivers of and obstacles to European integration, discusses major political dec
isions and developments in key policy areas and introduces a set of regional
integration theories. The lecture furthermore takes on the complex relationsh
ip between the different political levels in Europe (macro-regional/European,
national, sub-national) by employing the concept of Europeanization, underli
ning the dynamic effects of European processes on national contexts and the r
elevance of domestic politics for outcomes on the European level. Public opin
ion patterns and the issue of European identity are also discussed.
