"Meeting the real world of Accountancy"
Internship opportunity to strive for excellence
Our spring/summer internship programmes provide high calibre, penultimate year undergraduates with an opportunity to experience work and life at PwC, offering a valuable insight into our business and culture.
We can offer a limited number of internship opportunities in the following business areas:
? Advisory
? Assurance
? Tax
Whichever of these you choose, you will be given a real taste of life at the heart of the firm, working alongside graduate trainees and experienced professionals on live and interesting projects.
When and where do they run?
All of our internships commence in February or June and last for a few weeks. Opportunities are available at PwC offices all over mainland China and Hong Kong, giving you an even greater range of different experiences to choose from.
Who are they for?
If you are in the penultimate year of your degree (e.g. For Year 2008 Summer Internship, your graduation year is Year 2009) in one of the local universities then you have the opportunity to join one of our internship programmes. You will need a good academic record and to show how you've utilised your initiative and team working skills prior to and during university. We'll also expect you to have done plenty of research into your chosen business area, demonstrating a genuine commitment to that career path.
We regret we are unable to consider graduate application from any person who does not have a right of abode or an appropriate visa to be able to live and work in your preferred work location.
What will you do?
As an intern, you'll be treated in much the same way as our regular graduate intake. Over your time with us you will be exposed to a wide range of work and clients, and will be expected to make a valuable contribution throughout.
If that sounds daunting, don't worry: you won't be thrown in at the deep end straight away. Your programme will start with a training programme to provide general and specific technical training designed to give you all the skills you'll need to fulfil your responsibilities.
It will prove a steep learning curve and you may feel stretched at times, but we'll provide all the support you need. For instance, you will have a 'buddy' to answer your questions and, to help inform your development, you'll receive regular feedback on your performance by a 'career coach'.
How will you benefit?
Most importantly, our internships are designed to give you a real-life view of what a graduate career with PwC would be like. You'll be able to learn first-hand information if this is the career for you. If it is, and you perform well, you may return to your degree with an offer of a job for when you graduate. Our high performing intern will also gain a cross-line of services internship opportunity across our Assurance, Tax and Advisory department.
Beyond this, our aim is to raise both your commercial awareness and interpersonal skills to new levels. By experiencing life inside the world's leading professional services firm, you will develop many such new skills and qualities, standing you in good stead for the future, whatever you do.
