民航总局调查东航“返航”事件

近日，东方航空公司的14个航班在飞到目的地后，未降落就返航，引起了社会的广泛关注。受航班延误影响的旅客正打算发起诉讼，而国家民航局已派出工作组开始调查此次“返航事件”。

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) launched its investigation into China Eastern Airlines' pilots, whoturned back midway on flights to airports they had set off from.

民航总局开始着手调查东方航空公司返航的飞行员。

Last Monday, 18 flights returned to their departure points in southwestern Yunnan province, affecting more than 1,000 passengers.

上周一， 18个云南省内航班返航影响到1000多名旅客。

该报道中，turned back midway on flights to airports they had set off from 和 returned to their departure points 都是“返航”的意思，只是在实际运用的时候要记得第一个表达 (to turn back midway on flights to airport they have set off from) 的主语是pilot （飞行员），而第二个表达方式（to return to their departure points）的主语则是flight（航班）。如果要在新闻标题中表示“返航”的意思，就可以用 return flight  这个简化了的译法。return voyage也表示“返航”的意思，不过这个短语更倾向于指航海领域的“返航”。
