英国领事馆招实习生-维护气候变化网站

JOB VACANCY:
Digital Communication Intern

Part of the Consulate’s Press and Public Affairs team, the Digital Communicat
ion Intern provides support to the day to day building and maintenance work of
the nation-wide Climate Change website. Reporting to the Press and Public Aff
airs Officer, the job-holder will work on high-profile issues, which are impor
tant to the UK and China. The internship is expected to last no longer than fo
ur months. The position would particularly suit a recent graduate or senior co
llege student with a desire to work in either journalism or environmental/urba
n policy, who has an interest in developing their working command of English.


Main Priorities
•        Contribute to the climate change web pages design and its online campa
igns
•        Responsible for proof-reading of all the translated documents (from En
glish into Chinese) for the Climate Change website
•        Draft summaries for climate change themed articles to generate and inc
rease website traffic
•        In charge of developing and maintaining the climate change web pages a
nd ensure all the information are correct and up-to-date

Personal qualities
•        University graduate or colleague student ideally majored in English, j
ournalism, environment/urban planning or similar public policy related studies
. A good science/environment related background is desirable.
•        Creative writing/summarising skills in Chinese, and an attention to de
tail.
•        Good command of English especially in reading and quickly understandin
g Climate Change themed articles. Strong command of aural English is desirable
but not essential.
•        Sound IT competency. Experience on website maintenance is desirable bu
t not essential.
•        Being self-confident, dynamic and creative.
•        A self-starter, with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision

within a team.
•        Knowledge of Britain, interest in international policies.

Salary ranges from RMB 4,000 - 6,000 per month depending on circumstances.
