早年的吉林铁路局，曾经为抢救一位为抢救列车脱险而身负重伤的解放军，将运载这名军官的普通列车，改为特快列车，以最快速度直达目的地。 <p>　　电影《特快列车》就来自这个非常简单的故事。因为赶上以速度著称的大跃进时代，它顺应了当年新的影片样式“纪录性艺术片”，这种影片的特点是它讲的故事都是真实事件，并且拍摄制作的速度特快。</p><p>那时候的老影人都是认真的人，尤其导演又是赵心水，这事情就复杂了。为了完全真实，演员们先是跟着列车工作人员体验生活，后来有了吉林铁路局的大力支持，整个摄制组干脆就扎根在了列车上，吃、住、工作都不下车；可麻烦的是，那列车还一直沿着故事发生路段吉林到长春通化线行驶着呢，这可是繁忙的客运线，这列不拉旅客专拍电影的标准客车就在管辖线路里满世界转悠，老得让道，到那个段上了，停多长时间，哪趟车过去，停到哪条线上。。。 </p><p>　　剧组辛苦麻烦，铁路局的调度就更不用说了！但更麻烦的还在后头？那时候拍电影可不比现在，光导演赵心水听取的长影厂领导和铁路局方面为影片提出的意见与建议就厚厚一沓……怎么能及时解决所有麻烦又赶上速度呢？ </p><p>　　虽说是个简单的故事，背后的故事却复杂极了，而老影人们就是在那样的普遍情况下，坚持专业，充满激情，不惜改变了命运…… </p>
