宋新宁,男,1954年12月出生于江苏省南京市,1971年参加工作,1978年考入中国人民大学国际政治系,1985年硕士研究生毕业后留校任教,1991年被聘为副教授,1997年被聘为教授。曾先后担任国际政治系世界政治教研室副主任、国际政治教研室主任、国际政治系副主任,现任国际关系学院副院长、教育部重点研究基地之一的欧洲问题研究中心主任。
1991年10月至1992年10月,英国伦敦经济与政治学院国际关系系研究学者;1995年9月至1996年9月,美国加利福尼亚大学圣迭戈分校国际关系与太平洋研究学院富布赖特访问学者。
主要研究领域:
国际关系理论、国际政治经济学、中国对外关系与对外政策、欧洲政治与外交、美国政治与外交。

SONG, Xinning, Professor of International Relations, Deputy Dean, School of International Studies; Director, Centre for European Studies, Renmin University of China.
He had been in countryside for two years and a coal mine for six and half years before entering into university in 1978. After BA and MA studies at Renmin University of China, he joined faculty of Renmin in 1985. He was a Research Scholar at Department of International Relations, London School of Economics and Political Science in 1991-92, and Fulbright Scholar at IRPS, UC San Diego in 1995-96.
