葛底斯堡演说 　　《葛底斯堡演说》（Gettysburg address）既然是美国历史文献精粹，也是世界著名的演说辞之一。葛底斯堡是宾夕法尼亚州的一个小镇。1863年7月，北方军队经过三天浴血奋战，击败了南方的精锐部队，使北方军队逐步进入主攻，该战役也就成为南北战争（1861—1865）的转折点。许多英勇的战士为反对国家***，为解放黑人奴隶，献出了生命。于是国会决定在这片战场上建造国家公墓。林肯总统亲自从首都华盛顿赶来出席1863年11月19日举行的联邦军队阵亡将士公墓的落成典礼，并发表了这篇简短而又雄辩感人的演说。这篇演说既表达了强烈的民族自豪感，也阐明了富有民主精神的“民有、民治、民享”的政治观点。全文言简意赅，铿锵有力，气贯长虹，是演说辞的经典之作。亚伯拉罕·林肯（Abraham Lincoln,1809—1865），美国第16届总统，生于肯塔基州霍金维尔镇，除识字写字，没有受过正规教育。21岁开始独立生活，当过工人、水手、店员、邮递员、土地测量员和律师，1834—1840年四次入选伊利诺州议会，1856年加入共和党，1860年当选总统，1863年发表“解放宣言”，解放了20万奴隶。他精明能干，头脑敏锐，虚怀若谷，胆识过人。1865年4月14日，南北战争刚结束，他就被南方奴隶主指使的暴徒暗杀。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　Gettysburg Address　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　Abraham Lincoln　　Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.　　Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.　　But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.这是143年前美国总统的一篇演讲，从中我们可以领悟到一个民族精神的伟大！中国亦不乏这种精神，然而和平久了似乎人们的斗志就弱了。居安思危，忘战必危！每个中国人都应当铁肩担道义，做一个爱国的公民，为祖国繁荣贡献一生！

我去英语演讲的时候就选的这篇～～～～效果不错
