四大之路

从十月份开始到十二月份结束，我为普华整整忙了两个月．总体来说，寻找工作的过程分为以下过程：\r<br>１，了解四大是什么，能提供什么，我需要什么\r<br>２，网申
<br>３，准备面试
<br>４，完成面试

第一阶段，定位．
<br>四大，可以用累来总括吧，进去之后前几年薪水也不算特高，到手可能就三千左右，去年英语系进dtt的周哥哥就说其实前阵子自己还赤字了，而且要买一件体面的衣服的话也不容易．\r<br>四大，和所有的单位一样，刚进去会做特别基本的活，这是经理跟我说的，很单调，象打印啊什么的，当然可以在潜移默化中学会商业上的规则，不过我觉得这个在一般公司中也可以学到．
<br>四大，可以提供审计知识以及相关行业知识，他们有一套软件，把工作过程简化了，但是可能还是需要很多体力活，象对帐什么的，据说有一个阶段的单调很难受．不过我可能一直比较喜欢商业和金融这块吧，觉得可以从第一手上去学习这方面的知识这个意义是不亚于读研究生的，整天做什么粘贴复制的，没意思．所以我相信喜欢金融的人在这里可以学到很多东西．
<br>四大，有一个倒计时，几年内要求考上cpa，几年后有转为经理的机会，但很多人到合约完了后会到别的公司去搞财务．
<br>四大，门槛低，因为它不限制专业，只要你的英语好以及具备其他一些核心素质，它门槛也高，因为每年都会有一大堆清华派北大派贸大派北外派人大派以及海龟派各路高手和你抢饭碗，有一些就纯粹为了拿四大垫底硬是把你推下去（做人不厚道）．

<br>总之，我九月份做决定的时候问过自己很多遍，后来发觉既然自己已经为了能和经济金融这个名词扯上关系辛苦了两年并且决定以后还为它辛苦，所以就决定四大是自己的第二母校了．做决定的时候，silvia和一些师哥都很诚恳地告诉自己这是一种炼狱，我给师弟师妹的话也是如此，请想好．因为单单是接下来准备的日子就是一个锻炼．

<br>毕竟，荣耀是别人糊弄你糊弄你自己的东西，心中所求才是真实．

第二阶段：网申，初步了解你自己．
<br>
<br>网申要求的内容有：成绩，学校，专业，英语等级，实习经历，奖学金，校园活动，开放问题．后来经我们分析，这其实就是四大决定是否让你过网申的量化指标．
<br>我们不是top university，也不是会计或经济类相关专业，本人是国政0206的（另一个普华哥哥也是我班的，牛人）所以这两个指标我们就得不了分了．\r<br>我的gpa是3.5；英语还好，优秀证书比较多；我的实习经历就只是当过一个月的仓库管理员以及春笋家教（嘿嘿，也得不了分）；前两年拿了系三好；校园活动有武术队副队长（大家有兴趣加入啊）以及模拟联合国．\r<br>总体，觉得自己的劣势不少，像学校和专业：（，实习经历也很狗屎，校园活动也不怎样，最好有学生会的经历．幸好gpa补了一些，因为听说他们挺看重academic achievement的，英语是工作基础，重中之重，奖学金也重要．\r<br>所以我觉得我们学校学生要过网申就必须比别校多点东西，像成绩不好的就找一份出色的实习吧．
<br>
<br>最后一块是open　questions，最玄妙的地方．
<br>国关受过正规高档训练的学生都有写好英语作文的能力．大二的时候就被老师强迫天马行空地想然后不停修理剪裁弄出concise　n　precise的三段式条理清晰的作文．现在大家可以搬上用场了．
<br>
<br>我把我普华resume的open questions那块粘来吧：
<br>
<br>1) What community or students' clubs do you belong to and to what extent are you involved?
<br>I am Vice Leader to the Martial Arts Team of University of International Relations, responsible for organizing daily training, coordinating between team members and master, assisting preparation for annual fighting competion, editing the team's webpages, and leading the team to prepare for performance in annual campus party.
<br>I am member of the Students' Union of International Politics Department, responsible for coordinating between the department and students in my class, and other academically relevant tasks.
<br>
<br>2) Describe a recent project you have worked on which demonstrates your determination to complete challenging tasks and your ability to work with others.
<br>I am recently involved in a 23-people project, which aims at revealing China Authority's attitude and response to Japan, by basing our research on relevant official reports during 1993 and 2005 from People Daily (which represents China Authority's position). The whole team is devided into 11 groups, 2 persons each for basic mateiral-sorting, and another 3 persons responsible for compiling and working out a final piece of paper.
<br>As a member, I am responsible for scanning and processing 330 pieces papers, writing out a personal report, giving opinions on what and how to sort out and organize the materials, and assisting writing a final report.
<br>A major part of this job is tedious and time-consuming, especially at a time I am busy with job hunting. It is also confusing and challenging, because we have to write out a concise and organized paper based on so many materials, and have to coordinate and lead a group of 23 people who share the same feeling. But we manage to start by establishing a final purpose, that is to work out an excellent paper, establishing the team notion that everybody is equally necessary for the final success, conducting personal communication to give them the sense of a whole team, exchanging views to work out the best solution.
<br>I have clarified my positions as a common member and the core driving force in this team.
<br>
<br>3) Why are you applying for this position?
<br>Audit in PricewaterhouseCoopers will be my starecase, a place to get better understaning of Business and Finance, which I have been interested since two years ago.
<br>Audit is quantative, a more precise and deeper way to approach business and economics.
<br>PricewaterhouseCoopers is uniqe to me.The audit of PwC represents profissionalism, by which I mean integrity and quality inside and outstanding outside. A position in PricewaterhouseCoopers provides a broad horizen and a keen insight.
<br>This job is demanding and thus benefiting. As an enthusiastic and energetic candidate, I am looking for the opportunity to grow by performing myself under high pressure.
<br>
<br>4) Why do you think you are suitable for this position, and what differentiates you from other candidates?
<br>I find there is a convergence of core values between PricewaterhouseCoopers and myself: Honesty, Integrity, Responsiblity, Ambition for better and Hard Work. Professionalism underlined by these core values has always been a goal and a standard of my career life.
<br>I have perpared myself for such a kind of job, by keeping myself informed of updating economic news, teaching myself mathematics, finance and economics. And I have a strong drive and a keen interest in this job. What's more, during this 3 years while enthusiastically involving myself in Martial Arts Team, Students' Union, Basketball Team Competions, academic group reseaches, I have fostered my teaming sense and skills, and I have shaped myself into a person of physical and mental strength to perform steadily under high pressure.

<br>5) Any additional information?
<br>2 years ago, I planned to work hard for a Master Degree in Finace, and have been gradully progressing. By now I have a basically systematic command of Mathematics and Economics, through teaching myself. But this path has been readjusted, because I dig out the deeper motive for this plan, that is I am interested in business and economics, and the step should be started by approaching the operation of business in real life.
<br>Therefore I believe applying for and finally getting a job in PwC will be a key part for my career-and-study development.

<br>为了写那么丁点的字，我掏心掏肺地brainstorm了很久，想自己这几年都做了什么，想自己最渴望什么，把废话扔了，把重复的合并，把一条一条的次序排好，然后承上去，在写好的一瞬间突然觉得自己了更加了解自己了，一瞬间的成长，其实我相信申请出国写ps的朋友也有同感．
<br>有两点要提醒：\r<br>１，先用word软件写好再填充到他们的form里面，我当时直接填，暴露了很多错别字（上面是原版，所以你们可以找出错别字的，啊啊啊，丑），而word是可以自动纠错的，你们可以想象以审查为职业的经理发现有错字他的想法是怎样的．
<br>２，这几个问题以及你填的专业，校园活动，实习经历都是经理以及大pa面你的时候问题的蓝图，所以你应该就每一项为topic写一篇文章把它背熟，特别是open　question．\r<br>
<br>其实，网申不是很公平，我们一些比我出色的朋友都过不了网申．所以自己更加要让自己的指标显眼

第三阶段：准备面试．
<br>这个阶段要大口咀嚼面经了，面经可以上北大，清华，贸大，中财，复旦等去找，这些你们自然会的了．
<br>还要不停practise　english,这个太关键了．当时刚好我有两个师妹要考ＢＥＣ，而我也考过，所以一个月里我们每天晚上都用一个小时去练口语，不单是发音，更重要是eye　contact和interaction，我们基本有presentation，introduction，free　chatting和group　discussion．不停条件演练，发觉到时真的不一样，后来统一收集了一下，发觉国关学生的英语水平真的是很高的，在四大面试里一些人被选为leader．\r<br>普华面试有自我介绍，有group　discussion，有编故事，其实就是我们上面训练的翻版．只是在group　discussion这块最关键，因为他们看中team　work，不喜欢太offensive和passive的人，所以你必须positive但interactive，真的很难均衡的，大家慢慢摸索吧，到最后都化为be　yourself就好．\r<br>
<br>面试前两天我再也不练习了，把所有的都忘掉，然后打车去的时候再一瞬间回忆一下，发觉这个效果最好，自然流露，连笑都很自然，如果一直把神经绑太紧不停练习的话就不能随机应变显得很造作了（很多事情都是这样，不是吗）．just　forget　to　remember

第四阶段：完成面试，出师表\r<br>面完了我跟经理要名片然后发thank　u　letter，表达自己的愿望，把当时自己太紧张没有好好回答的问题再答一次．
<br>然后继续等下一次面试的通知，等待的过程，朋友很重要．．．

ＰＳ：\r<br>１，师哥师姐，我们有一个师姐在普华，一个师哥在德勤，我还联系了一个贸大的师哥，去德勤宣讲会的时候还厚着脸皮要了一个jj的名片，不过后来就把中心防在普华了．师姐在我参加第一次面试的前两天邀请我到她们公司大楼喝starbuck（下次你们来我也请），陪我聊天，条件演练，临走前还不忘对我说你很强这种让我信心倍增的话．在普华面试的时候贸大师哥乘着空隙把我叫出去说：加油．一个小小的心态暗示就可以让我保持四个小时的微笑．．不假．我们还是很需要鼓励的．而师哥师姐给我的榜样是好好地帮助和鼓励师弟师妹，感动是一瞬间后泽被无限的吧（四大倾向者欢迎交流，in　anyway）\r<br>２，一面完临走，我把我主持人的email以及我们小组内所有成员的emails要过来，保持联系，在等消息的时候还能相互了解一手消息．以后还是同事．\r<br>３，迟到，我普华二面迟到了．．．绝望．．．当时就想哭．你们最好比预算好到的时间再提前一个小时去．\r<br>４，朋友，人总是有脆弱的时候，是他们陪你过的，包括打９７拳皇消遣包括陪你练拳包括陪你打篮球包括陪你一起唱linkin的歌包括陪你大声叫＂啊啊啊＂包括默默的祝福．而当自己拿到offer的时候，听到朋友落马的消息时，便感觉自己的幸运日中依然有一块暗淡无光．拿到offer电话的时候，是zr（国政篮球队长）在为我大声欢呼，还有fish给我帖一张告示全国关的通告．还有更多更多．第二天，国关有一半的人向我微笑：）\r<br>这就是年轻，就是国关吧．
