便笺与备忘录
(一）便笺（Note)

便笺是社交书信中常见的一种形式，便笺经常用于熟识的朋友、同事之间。较一般书信而言，便笺的格式比较简单，开头的称呼和结尾的谦称部分可以省掉Dear, Mr./Mrs., Sincerely 等客套语，直接写上名字；而时间的写法也比较随意，既可以写日期，也可以写星期几，甚至也可以写具体的时间。便笺的语言也比较简洁，用几句话将所涉及的事情写明白即可。

Sample one:

Bruce, I will go to cinema with my girl friend, so please let me know who will make telephone for me in the afternoon. Thank you.

Sample two:

James, my watch doesn't work now. I know you have one and I want to borrow it because I
have a test this afternoon. I am writing to know whether you will be at home this noon, as I need to use it urgently. Thanks.

(二）备忘录（Memo)

备忘录就是同一单位的员工在工作中相互发送的信函。有的简短，像一张便条：有的比较长，类似于普通书信。备忘录通常不很正式，主要用来补充正式文件，对同一单位的工作人员、部门或分部通报诸如会议安排、情况报告、问题处理等情况。其格式一般包括以下几部分。

信头（Reading):包括发文单位的名称、地址和发文日期。有的还写上发文单位电话号码等。许多单位已在自己特制的信笺上印好了以上各项，使用时只要填写日期和编号。

收笺人姓名、职务和地址（Addressee's name, title and address):这几部分写在左上角编号处的下面，其格式与一般书信的写法相同。

称呼（Salutation):从左边顶格写起，称呼用法可以参照书信里的写法。

事由（Subject, Re，
Docket):此项可以放在称呼之前或之后，由Re，
Subject或Docket等引出。内容只需要用名词或动名词等少数几个词，甚至一个词做简略陈述。

正文（Body):第一段应该直入主题，列出最重要的信息或结论，接着可以具体说明事由、经过、情况，提出意见或建议等，最后可重申主题或表示意愿。应力求简明、确切。

结束语(Complementary close)Q

签名（Signatured

正文、结束语和签名与一般书信的格式相同。
