Global Leader Scholarship:
Recognizing a compelling need for high-quality leaders led The Suisse International Group Foundation to partner with the Hong Kong China Internship Association in 2008 to create the Global Leader Scholarship Program. The program identifies students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential and provides them with unique opportunities for leadership development. The HCIA GLS program identifies exceptional college students and provides them with training that will enhance their leadership abilities. The program provides young leaders with a unique international network through which they can share ideas, learn from established leaders, work collaboratively and address global challenges, especially in investment banking. By exposing participants to the complex issues and opportunities arising from an increasingly interdependent global economy, the program aims to expand perspectives and enhance skills critical for leadership in a changing world.
Each year 100 students are selected from different universities and colleges. Each student is awarded US$1,200 to cover the Business Elite ExchangeProgram fee run by HCIA and given the title of SIG Global Leader. To become a SIG Global Leader a student must apply online and submit an application to HCIA Hong Kong Office. Panels within each region review all applications, interview and select the final 100 student winners.
Through personal interviews, 100 students are then selected to represent the group at the University of Hong Kong. At the University, students participate in Business Elite Exchange Program and training courses inside the University of Hong Kong on timely international issues. They consult with renowned managers in the investment bank filed.
Alumni Activities: All Global Leaders are given the opportunity to participate in various alumni activities. For example, students have access to an on-line learning curriculum in leadership development created by Hong Kong China Internship Association.
